Here's what past
clients are saying...
"I was so happy
to have found an editor who works with up-and-coming writers. She was able to figure out exactly what I needed and provided
me with tools I had never known about before. It was nice to have someone who knew the ropes to show me what direction would
be best for my goals. My writing has improved and the way I look at my writing has allowed me to explore new avenues I had
not thought about previously. Cheri is a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to improve
and strive for their goals as a writer no matter what stage they are at."
—Stephanie May Wilson, poet Author of the
soon-to-be-published poem "Let it Be Done"
The best feature about Cheri Lasota's editing
skills, besides her unbelievable kindness, is that she has an acute eye for detail. She is extremely well versed in the
Chicago Manual of Style for fiction and if she does not know the answer she will spend the time to find it. When
I sent my story in to the [magazine] editors, there were only eight changes they wanted to make. Most of the changes were
about word selection or the differences in Canadian language vs. American language.
Simply put, she
did a flawless job, which is not something to be taken lightly in this age of changing formats for fiction. If
you have the opportunity of availing her services it can do nothing but up your chances for publication. Speaking
of which—Cheri, in a couple of weeks I am gonna need some editing . . . what do you say?
"Every writer needs an editor.
I had gone through several drafts of my first novel when I met Cheri Lasota at a writer's conference. She gave me the
tools, especially how to be clear about POVs and how to show instead of tell, to rewrite my historical fiction in a way that
makes it clearer and more compelling to the reader. To better understand what I was attempting, she looked at works of an
author who had been an important model for me. All of that was in addition to doing an excellent job of copyediting. She was
always available for consultation about the suggestions she was making. I couldn't have asked for more. Thanks!"
—Milo Thornberry, writer Bend,
Oregon "Cheri
happened upon me quite by accident. She is a friend of a friend, who has used her editorial services for several years. So,
recently, when I needed an editor myself, I asked for Cheri's number. And am I glad I did! She is amazing. She is quick
to point out the need for a more appropriate word, can quickly spot a dated slang word, or pick out a word that's not
right for a character's voice. She is phenomenal with grammar and punctuation. The author's voice is all important
to her and she makes certain that it is maintained when offering suggestions. Don't know what I'd do without her editorial
talents." —Marilyn Owen, writer Portland, Oregon "Cheri
Lasota is in my critique group and has done all my editing on the novel I am writing. I can honestly say that every time she
edits my work, I can see that it reads and flows noticeably better. She has been a tremendous teacher in my pursuit of writing
in grammar, punctuation, and clarity of wording. I would strongly recommend her for editing anyone's writing. I'm
confident they will be satisfied."

"Cheri
has done a superb job editing several of my projects. The first project she worked on was a compilation of several writers
and was an ongoing project that took a keen eye for revision. The job was completed and submitted without any doubt that the
editing would be excellent and a smooth read. Also, I print a monthly devotional for Breaux Tageant Ministries—thirty-five
pages of text every month—and she is able to edit it in a very timely manner, which saves me a lot of extra hassle and
I can focus on design and print rather than toiling over the editing for so long. I find more and more I rely on her to do
my editing."
—Erin E. Ganey, owner of Deans' Nursery Inc., Lucedale, Mississippi "It was at proofreading that [Cheri] really
stood out. She proofed many different types of material, ranging from newsletters to academic journals to book manuscripts.
She has an exceptional grasp and use of grammar, her spelling is excellent, and she has an eye for consistency of style. She
also is unafraid to ask a question or dig into the dictionary to answer some query in a paper."
